Overview / 概要
Molecular simulation is attracting growing attention across a wide range of fields—including physics, chemistry, materials science, and bioinformatics—as a powerful approach for elucidating nanoscale structures and dynamics. The scope of its applications is rapidly expanding, encompassing everything from theoretical model development and simulation methodologies to integration with experimental studies and computational technologies such as machine learning.
This workshop brings together several research laboratories from Institute of Science Tokyo and Keio University, aiming to promote interdisciplinary and collaborative research through molecular simulation. Topics of interest range widely—from the structural dynamics of biomolecules and mechanical properties of polymer materials to AI-assisted analysis methods.
Beyond sharing research methods and analysis techniques, the workshop aspires to lay the groundwork for the next generation of simulation science through dialogue and mutual understanding among researchers. In particular, it will offer valuable opportunities for young researchers and graduate students to network with peers from diverse backgrounds and to gain fresh perspectives.
分子シミュレーションは、ナノスケールの構造やダイナミクスを解明するための強力なアプローチとして、物理学、化学、材料科学、バイオインフォマティクスなど幅広い分野で注目されています。理論モデルの構築からシミュレーション手法の開発、実験との連携、さらには機械学習などの計算技術との融合に至るまで、その応用範囲は急速に拡大しつつあります。
本ワークショップは、東京科学大学および慶應義塾大学の複数の研究室が一堂に会し、分子シミュレーションを通じた学際的・連携的な研究推進を目的として開催されます。対象とするテーマは、生体分子の構造ダイナミクスから高分子材料の機械的特性，さらにはAIを用いた解析支援など多岐にわたります。
本ワークショップでは、研究手法や解析技術の共有のみならず、研究者間の対話と相互理解を通じて、次世代のシミュレーション科学の礎を築くことを目指します。特に若手研究者や大学院生にとっては、異なるバックグラウンドを持つ仲間とのネットワーキングや、新たな視点の獲得の機会としても有意義な場となることを期待しています。
